Displaying Esoteric Shop

Our aim

To represent the esoteric shop "7mo Poder" of Carúpano including not only objects, but also the informative aspect and atmosphere.

What we want to offer

Interactive experience through multiple senses in the aim of maximizing the emotional memory, with the possibility to have extensive amount of knowledge about esoteric healing practices.

Senses we stimulate

Tactile, auditory, visual sense, smell

General view

Additional for the visual sight there are things to touch (statues, books, necklaces, bottles...), aromas to smell (Kati will mix them) and possibility to ask advise for the problems.

The outlook of the shop

Because we do not know all the rules about dealing with these sacred things, we would like to keep the outlook of the presentation as similar as the authentic shop in Carúpano. At front there will be glass cabinet, where inside are different kind of articles that one can find from esoteric shop. On the top of the glass cabinet is touch screen and the things guests are allowed to touch (or smell): some statues, books and aromatic bottles. The walls of the shop will be green, with shelves full of bottles, pictures and other staff. On walls will be also hanging plastic bead necklaces. At the back is big screen with the image of the rear part of the shop, including more shelves, bottles, cans and other stuff.

Place

Near by plaza, next the beach, on the small blind alley corridor.

Technique

The narrative of the esoteric shop is tied in the database, wich consist the information about spirits and gods, esoteric healing and the customs related in this. The touch screen will be placed vertically on the top of the vitrine; in a case that is not possible to have the touch screen, monitor and mouse could do. The computer will be hiding behind the vitrine or inside it. It is known that the visible screen steps out from the basic design lines of exhibition: explanation for this solution is the hypothesis, that users are more likely to start to use the computer than to find out the sensors that are hidden in objects.

The touch screen is possibility for interactive information. Guests may ask questions for the given options, and the answer will be shown on screen. There might be also additional ways for information, eg. woman image appearing at the back screen and her voice coming from speakers, the spot light which lightens the subject (bottle, book, etc), or similar kind of things to make the information a bit more rich.

There is the chance also to activate the computer program through sensored objects. For example, the statues which are on the table: by touching them guests should be able to get the same information than when activating it through computer.

Example: someone is having the problem of not being able get married (or at least he is hoping to meet at least bit suitable candidate): (s)he asks the question (still open how) and for the answer the picture of the shop owner will appear at the back screen, he is able to hear her voice telling the solution in Spanish, and the bottle of aromatic love rising mixture is pointed in the spotlights.

The back of the shop is made by using choosen slide from esoteric shop; that is there to give an illusion of shop bigger and full of stuff.

There is a possibility to run the video interview from orginal esoteric shop. The video will be shown against the same back screen where the slide is usually. If the visitor starts to play the video, it will continue until the end: any other time the dia will be shown.
