Workshops

Dates
During the Creative Industry exhibition there will be two workshops organised by Huomioi kaikki and Design Museum. Workshops will take place on Saturdays 1.10 and 8.10 at the Design Museum.

Programme
Path workshops on Saturday 1.10 and 8.10 from 13-16 in Design Museum.

Huomioi kaikki, an international group of students from University of Art and Design, has produced the Path project to Design Museum's exhibition. Path offers both informational accessibility through creating connections between the exhibition content and the visitor's everyday life and physical accessibility through various practical solutions. Path gives us an opportunity to focus on our similarities and allows us to meet each other equally despite of our differences.

In the Path workshops participants deal with their relationship to a personally meaningful object. The experience is then shared through producing a story of this important object and comparing it with similar stories that are shown in the Creative Industry exhibition. There will be discussions about objects and their meanings and participants can try out writing and reading Braille.

The workshops are designed and produced by the Huomioi kaikki group from the University of Art and Design's department Media Lab. The group members are scenographers Jana Eske and Nao Saito, graphic designer Reka Kiraly, producer Hanna Niemi-Hugaerts and lecturer Marjo Mäenpää.

In addition to the group there will be Satu Linna teaching Braille. Workshops are targeted to people of all ages and capabilities. Participants under the age of 15 should come in company of an adult.
