Path

by Huomioi kaikki! http://mlab.uiah.fi/huomioikaikki

Path is a guideline system for creating equal exhibition experience used in the installation in Creative Industry -exhibition in Design Museum, Helsinki 16.9.-23.10.1005.

We all move in the same spaces and use the same objects. Objects respond to many different needs. Such aspects as shape, sound, scent, feel, memories, material and appearance effect our experience of an object.

We all have different abilities. The Path attempts to produce an exhibition that is open to as wide a range of visitors as possible. The idea is not to emphasize the differences between people but to present an equally accessible exhibition experience. The texts printed in Braille, the relief map, accessible spatial design and the stories written and read in Finnish and in English serve to make the exhibition a friendly experience to people of all ages and cultures, including those of us with physical disabilities.

Emotions and memories are part of the experience of the Path. The Path also sees the visitor out of the museum and back to everyday life. There are three stops on the Path that invite you to reflect on your relationship to the objects in your environment.
