24-year-old world view
everything changes, yet everything stays the same
technological innovations eliminate waiting and
distances,
everything changes faster
and everything stays the same faster
everything moves in cycles or at least in pendulum
motion
every force has a counterforce
and the sum of the forces is zero
cultural evolution
if you have an opinion,
you can bet your life that someone else has the exact
opposite opinion
and in the end it becomes a matter of statistics
which opinion dominates
and steers the evolution of our community, our species
i do not believe that an individual has much power
to control the fate of humanity
or influence our society
and if i choose not to vote
there is always someone else that will
if there is a real need for change
the change will find individuals that will implement
it
the network is always more than the sum of its components
at the end of the day,
humans are still designed for survival
and will find enemies if needed
so i doubt there will ever be peace and harmony
until bigger forces than humans take over

do i sound cynical?
that may be, because i do not believe in big things
with thousands of people in them
i find happiness in smaller things
personal things
like creativity, leaving a trace
and of course, love and friends
like john would
say: my personal network
(thank god he's shaved off that moustache ;)
