Concept

The concept is to bring different kinds of creative people from different fields together and give them the possibility to participate in an open-platform happening for experiments and new experiences. The happening will be organized simultaneously in two (or more) club spaces in Finnish cities. There will also be participating artists and musicians in Germany, Iceland, and possibly other locations as well as online. The basic program of the happening will be pre-formatted but it will remain flexible and open to changes and spontaneous actions during the course of the actual event. Included will be different styles of music, sound and video art, , and performance. The program is now being constructed.

These club spaces will be connected to each other via the Internet. This will enable the artists to cooperate regardless of location and they may, for example, perform "together" at the same time in different locations. The Internet connection will include video and audio in the form of local Real Audio/Video broadcasting encoders. There will also be an open IRC channel for those who cannot physically be in the club to participate and a webcam for remote observation of the venues.

Target Group

The happening will reach out to as many target groups as possible by offering a big variety of music and cultural content. Each club will have a different theme to reache its own audience. The age of the target group is mainly young adults -- 20 - 30 who may be present physically or virtually via Internet.

The target group is also the musicians and artists, in that they have the possibility to gain experience with new technologies and broaden their social networks.

Reserch report:

Can-go is a network, a functional re-organization of private transportation.

It is about expanding the network of people for finding out others who share the same route, and making the sharing of rides easy and convenient. For passangers it is an alternative for the transportation that is restricted to predefined routes and timetables. The car drivers don't have to alter their routes either, they just inform the network where they are going.

Within the Can-go project we have been doing reseacrh on social networks in order to build the platform of "network of trust".
